In Northern Chile there are four big biogeographical zones: The coastal desert, the Absolut desert, the Andean desert and the Puna or Altiplano (High Plateau).

In order to understand its global biodiversity, and especially for a good birdwatching, it’s better to divide Northern Chile into two big regions: the Altiplano and the Arica´s coastal areas, located in the northern extreme and the southern side, with the Atacama’s Salt Flat, the adjacent desertic and Andean areas.

If you will know both regions, you could have a complete view of birds of the Northern Chile and also good part of the mammals  that share their habitat .

We want to invite you to meet our circuits in the north of Chile, visiting the Altiplano or Atacama, which have been thought to discover on detail our local biodiversity.
